Boards in Action: Next Generation Fall Class of 2012

We live in an age of rapid change – new technology, new practices, and new demands on leaders.

The Community Foundation’s new Boards in Action: Next Generation program is designed to quickly and effectively teach your board members the skills required to take an organization to the next level. This rapid-fire, but detailed program immerses participants in the techniques of highly effective boards.

Next Generation is the distillation of the Foundation’s acclaimed Boards in Action program into three power packed seminars.  

Your organization will have the tools to develop concrete steps to help board members be better leaders serving your mission.

Chuck Loring, MBA, CFRE, senior partner of Fort Lauderdale and Indianapolis – based firm of Loring, Sternberg & Associates and Senior Governance Associate for BoardSource, will work with a cadre of boards to gain an full overview of the requirements of today’s highly effective board. Chuck will help you to:

• Create or refine your board recruitment plan – discover how to get great board members.
• Reshape your board structure for fast, effective and powerful decision making – create committees that work
• Help your board be great ambassadors – The key to opening more doors 
• Energize your board and create a team dedicated and committed to success
  
• Clarify your mission and what makes you great?
• Good governance counts – ensure your board mechanics encourage funders and great board members to join your cause not avoid it.

• September 21 & 22, 2012 - 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (day and 1/2 Board retreat)
  • Friday, September 21, 2012 1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 22, 2012 8:00 a.m - 4:00 p.m (Breakfast and lunch included)
• October 30, 2012 - 4:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (dinner included)
